OK, pamarlin and banderian ... were y'all there?? I was there (late show). Although I realized once I got there that I'd have no idea how to find either one of you. That was kind of stupid of me to not get on here and make a plan for meeting up.
Anyway, the show was AWESOME!! It was just Charlie - solo acoustic. It was fun.
Big news flash (because we had that whole poll going on about his hair) - Charlie got his hair cut. It's very short. Looks nice, of course.
Other funny news flash (because we have another long thread going on about the movie) - he declared that "Sunset Boulevard" is now known as "Brokeback Boulevard". Made me giggle in light on the message board.
Oh, one more news flash (because we like to talk about his favorite shirts) - he had on a new shirt (well, I'd never seen it). White with blue designs. Maybe paisleys. I think he likes paisleys. (Remember that blue and red one?)
He sounded great, in spite of being sick. (Isn't he always sick? LOL.) He did an AWESOME version of "America the Beautiful". He did "Photograph" - hooray! I haven't heard that one live very much.
Loved it... |

By the way, after the show, we went to the Firehouse to catch the end of the Max Stalling show. Does anyone listen to him? I like him. |

We went to the show, the early show. It was great! What a great place to see Charlie. It was the first time that we have seen him, though we've been fans for a few years. Someone commented on his shirt during the show. He said he had just taken the tags off right before coming on stage. It's funny how he has such a big following but you never really hear much about him on the radio or the media. The bartender told me that they had been on standing room only for over two weeks prior to the show. Granted, it's a small venue, but that really surprised me. We are going to try to catch him at Gruene hall next month. I'll bet that's a great place to see Charlie. Anyone ever seen him there?

Naa, I couldnt make it. I had planned on going. You see, the wife and I had to go to Bryan/College Station earlier that day to get all of our stuff out of storage-and let me tell you , that sucked. To much rain.- Anyway, we planned on getting all our stuff unloaded off the uhaul we rented, and then get cleanded up and head out. But alas old Murphys law came into play. The car we took to bryan threw a rod, and i put the Uhaul in a culvert going into my driveway!!! So I spent all night trying to get my car back home and the uhaul out of the culvert. But I deffinately will make the show in Spring, Texas in March |

Pamarlin - Hee hee!! That's stalker heaven!! (Meaning, yeah, we love catching the shows at Gruene Hall!) We always try to get to the shows out there - especially the ones over Labor Day weekend.
Banderian - Damn, it sounds like you sure had a shitty day!! Well, I hope at least that you now have all your stuff moved in. Next time, next time!! |

Gruene Hall is a great place to see Charlie. You'll enjoy it.
Been there twice myself the past two years Labor Day weekend and saw all four shows. |

By the way, I forgot to let everyone know that I once again fulfilled my duties to dial-a-sharpie, as I tried to call our long lost friend Dawwie ... but she didn't answer. Just wait until Friday night ... I'm sure we'll dial up Dawwie again. As well as the Cackalackian contingent. Ditto with Gruene Hall weekend. Wow, that one could be messy. You Cackalackian boys might want to disconnect your phones for that weekend! |

Heather, sorry I missed your call......enjoyed the message in any event.
Really happy to hear about the haircut.
You sounded way too sober though.....
I am not even bothering to sign in anymore. It bothers me to have to do it twice. |

I know!! But I knew I was going to get to see you in only six days! Four days now!! Besides, I didn't know if you'd care, since Charlie didn't hang out after the show to sing "Amanda" for you. |
