I gurantee you will not hear people yell "Texas!" and "Billy Bob's!". Gruene Hall has had it's share of "interesting" people, but I generally have no problems with the crowd there.
In Chicago, there were people in back dancing, which is where the dancers should be. When I split from front of the stage to get away from the dipwads, I went toward the back for awhile. Back there, a guy asked me to dance. I politely said no, but come to find out, he was dancing with me anyway....behind my back. He leaned in from behind and said, "Don't stop. You're doing great." When I turned around he was getting his white boy groove on. Jackass.
Any other time, I probably would have laughed, but not when I was seething from the rudeness up front. Can people not tell when someone is NOT in the mood to be fucked with? I exude it when I'm pissed. When I'm mad...you know it. I wear my emotions on my sleeve, it's just how I am. This guy apparently did not see that. I had to walk away from him too.
I don't know what was up with Chicago - but I will say this...sometimes fans in the North can be rude. Iowa shows have been historically my favorite, but it seems the rudest people I have encountered at Charlie concerts have been in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois.
Then again...one of the nicest most fun crowds was the Davenport show. Go figure. |

We live in the suburbs, and we rarely make it out to the city because I can't stand most of the people there.
Note that I said most, not all.
Oh, these dancers were in front by us. They also had to tell everyone they were from Texas. |

What is it with that? I dated a Texan this last year. He is extremely proud he's from Texas. Always telling me how better he is than others because he's from Texas. It was to the point of extreme arrogance and righteousness. Whatever. If you love it so much, what the hell are you doing living in Iowa?? His answer? "I like it here." Then shut the hell up is what I told him quite a few times.
Pride in where you're from is great, I have no problem with that and admire Texans for their pride in their home state (after all, I'm damn proud I am from, and live, in Iowa.) but don't use it as an excuse to be rude.
By the way, I heard today that Chicago is the new LA. No sh*t. Great. Apparently West and East coasters want to move to the Midwest now because they are finding it's a safer place to live. Great. Yay for us. Not. |

I'm sorry , we will have to debate this issue.
I'm very dedicated to a good party when appropriate. Like say...ummmmm.....just off the top of my head, I'm thinking if one of you cackalack Jack Assed non-partying people came to Texas for some reason, I would drive hours to say "hi". I'd bring friends, we'd party...you would feel welcomed and have a great time. Texas loves a good time.
South Carolina ,on the other hand, extremely disapointing. |

The amazon wench was right behind us, then right in front of us, then to the left behind us, then shoving in front of us and then to the right behind us, then shoving her way in front of us again.
Dawwie, Murdock and Trix were off to the right of Kim and Scott, and Amanda, Heather and I were just to the right of Charlie, right up front. We had to be real close to each other from the sounds of it. Hell! I may have even talked to you.
I think from now on, I need to just be the drunk cowgirl at the bar.
Go incognito and stay out of trouble.... |

Don't be so hasty Mandy. If i based my opinion of Texas on my previous trip there, I would have to assume that the whole state blows. A boring, drab wasteland with nothing to pass the time accept watching armadillos "do they thang". I'm sure I was just caught in a bad spot, though, kinda like you were here. I can't vouch really vouch for the spot you stayed in here, havin gonly been there a time or two...but us Piedmont/Upstate fuckers know how to tho down. |
