I will be in Chicago and I would love to meet some people from the board after posting on here for 5 years!!!!
I will prob. go to Madison too since my parent's have a weekend house up there and I'll crash with them for the weekend! |

I am reservedly happy about this. I'd like to be more positive, but truth is....the Quad Cities SUCKS for musical entertainment and I worry that they will not get a good turn out because people here don't know good music when they hear it, and they don't support live music very well. A venue in Iowa City tried booking Charlie once and ended up cancelling because they couldn't sell more than two tickets to the show prior to the event. So I worry.
But this time will be different if I got anything to do with it. IOWACOWGIRL IS TOWN! The radio stations and newspaper are going to be so annoyed with me before the boys hit town. I'm going to push Charlie and the guys so much they are going to play him and advertise just to get me to shut the hell up.

Hell, half my coworkers will be at this show because they want to know who I'm running off to Texas to see all the time. So I can promise at least ten tickets will be sold.
Okay. I'll stop bitching now. If you'd know how deprived I've been of good music here, you'd understand.....

When I ordered my ticket for the Surf Ballroom last year I got ticket #1 in the mail. I couldnt believe it cuz I expected a big crowd. I was so glad I got it back at the end of the night (after scouring the ticket table) for my scrapbook.
Im so bummed I cant make it to the Minnie concert or the Davenport concert. I am responsible for 3 other people going to the Minnie concert so far, I just wish I was one of them going. Whats with people getting married ruining a great concert?
I hope all the midwest concerts are sellouts |

I've done some research on this Redstone Room. Very cool. It's a part of the River Music Experience Museum. I'm pretty excited about this. This is a good gig. A VERY good gig. I think I'll go pay them a visit today.

Iowa - Did you end up checking this place out this weekend?
I sure as hell hope they get a good turnout. And I know they will if you have any little thing to do with it.

| I didn't stop by this weekend, but I've been to the museum before and I know what room it is. It's a nice place for a show. It's not a bar. It's a special events room. So, it will be interesting to see who turns out for it and what it's like. I'm going to go to one of the venues earlier shows and see what it's like. Feel the place out. I'll get with the event coordinator here soon and see if I can help advertise. Already hit up the local radio stations. |
