Let's all make SHOCKING MUSICAL CONFESSIONS!!!! It can be a popular group that you think sucks, someone most people think sucks but you like, a bizarre song that you really dig, a story about giving David Cassidy a bacon enema...whatever, as long as it qualifies as a SHOCKING MUSICAL CONFESSION!!!!!
I'll start...
I think the Beach Boys suck and "Pet Sounds" is aptly named, since it sounds like a cat eating off it's own genitals. |

I love Huey Lewis and the News. Ever since I was 13. Madonna too. My guilty pleasures.
I own no albums by the Beatles, the Stones, Led Zepplin, Bruce Springsteen, or Bob Dylan. Probably never will... They have enough money without me. |

Once upon a time, long, long ago.....I once owned a Toby Keith and a Kenny Chesney album. Surprisingly, both totally sucked and I traded them in at the Half Price Book Store. |

Everyone's entitled to their opinions...but Brian Wilson is a freakin' genius.
But in the spirit of the thread and to adequately answer the question of why I was googling pictures of Al Gore...
...that's right, it's Al Gore whacking Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love over the head with a Singapore cane.
PS- Pork- your PM is on the way... |

Thanks dude. I appreciate how different and experimental their sound was, and the technical innovations they made in the recording process...I just don't like their music. |

Oh, no problem at all. There was a two week stretch where I saw Brian Wilson live and then Charlie down at Gruene. For me, it didn't get much better than that.
My shocking musical confession, I bought the second DEVO album when I was in high school. Listened once, was totally weirded out, and never listened to it again. I just remember the electro-new wave version of Satisfaction they did.
BTW, who likes the Rev. Horton Heat here? I borrowed "Smoke Em If You Got Em"?? from a friend and I have to say this is some wicked stuff here. |

Willie Nelson Releases Gay Cowboy Song
Wed Feb 15, 6:57 AM ET
Country music outlaw Willie Nelson sang "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to
Be Cowboys" and "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys" more than 25 years ago. He
released a very different sort of cowboy anthem this Valentine's Day. "Cowboys
Are Frequently, Secretly (Fond of Each Other)" may be the first gay cowboy song
by a major recording artist. But it was written long before this year's
Oscar-nominated "Brokeback Mountain" made gay cowboys a hot topic. Available
exclusively through iTunes, the song features choppy Tex-Mex style guitar runs
and Nelson's deadpan delivery of lines like, "What did you think all them
saddles and boots was about?" and "Inside every cowboy there's a lady who'd love
to slip out." The song, which debuted Tuesday on Howard Stern's satellite
radio show, was written by Texas-born singer-songwriter Ned Sublette in 1981.
Sublette said he wrote it during the "Urban Cowboy" craze and always imagined
Nelson singing it. Someone passed a copy of t
he song
to Nelson back in the late 1980s and, according to Nelson's record label, Lost
Highway, he recorded it last year at his Pedernales studio in Texas. |

He's Willie Fucking Nelson! He could release a song about making sweet love to diseased cow and it'd still be pure country gold. |

In my music collection:
Slaughter's "Stick it to Ya"
The Simpsons Sing the Blues
The Bullet Boys "Freak Show"
Somethin' er another by Garth
And something by someone named RTZ
All were freebies I got from working at radio stations, but still... |

I have in my possession a DVD of CMT videos that a "friend" gave to me because they incorrectly assumed my musical tastes included pop country. On it is Big & Rich's "Coming to Your Ci-tay" and other crappy videos. I am desperately trying to get rid of it. Anybody want it? |
